If you are serious about kiting, you need a ZeroStar SUL in your bag! This kite
will really open up a lot of opportunities on those days with just a whisper a
wind.
As
for flight performance, the ZeroStar is incredibly nimble with a turning radius
centered well inside the wingtip. And despite the responsive nature, this
kite still retains great precision and tracking qualities. In addition, it will perform multiple flat spins with grace and loves to 540, fade and
flic-flac. During fly aways, the ZeroStar has an amazing glide ratio and is
very recoverable from extreme pancake positions.
The
multiple standoff holes in the sail permit quick and easy variations of the sail
profile to effect the degree of lift and pull. This is a real asset for
extending the versatility of this feather light kite. Anything from indoor
flight with minimal effort to solid handling in winds up to 8 m.p.h. are a
reality.

When
comparison shopping for a full-size SUL, keep these two things in mind:
First, does the kite utilize full wrapped spars? Many manufactures claim
the use of wrapped spars. In reality, you will only find them in the pair
of lower horizontal spreaders with inexpensive pultruded spars used
everywhere else. Not the case with the ZeroStar - premium Sky Shark 2PT's are
employed not only in the lower spreaders, but the leading edges and spine as
well.
The
second consideration is weight. Are there slightly lighter SUL's of this
size on the market? Yes a few, but durability was
sacrificed to get there. Consider that most large SULs are used primarily
for outdoor flying in light breezes and used indoors only on rare
occasions. Therefore, the kite will have to withstand contact with rough terrain and the occasional wind gust.
And
when making this kind of investment, shouldn't the kite last for hundreds of hours of flight
time and not tear the first time ground contact is made? To this end, the
ZeroStar has durable leading edge pockets, a Mylar spine strip and double fabric layers in the
both the standoff and tail areas to prevent excess sail stretch.
This design philosophy also leaves just enough mass for executing slack line tricks!
Compare
the competition - you will quickly determine the ZeroStar is an excellent
value. The performance, quality, aesthetics and
durability meets (and often surpasses!) the array of $300+ SUL models currently
available.
